What campers say
Bear Creek Campground is a small DNR site near Port Angeles along the Sol Duc River with riverside sites and trail access. It's free with a Discover Pass and has about 16 sites with picnic tables, fire rings and some accessible overlooks. Expect pit/vault toilets, limited or no potable water, and mixed reports about RV hookups — larger fifth-wheels may not fit. The setting is scenic but close to Highway 101, so daytime road/maintenance noise and mosquitoes can be issues. Bring plenty of water, firewood, bug spray, and pack out trash; recent management upgrades have been noted.
