This is a great spot from which to explore Glacier NP. We camped in a 26' travel trailer. It's all first-come first served. We pulled in early afternoon on a Wednesday before 4th July weekend and got one of the last spots, certainly the last one on C Loop, so go early in summer. Once you're in though you can stay up to 14 days in peak season and I believe up to 30 outside. This is primitive camping. There is a dump station with water when you go in, and there are also spigots around the loops (see photos). There are restrooms with flush toilets, sinks, and electrical outlets. There is also a grey sink for both grey water and portable toilet waste (we've not seen this before). The two down sides to this campground are that there are no pay showers available in the park - there are showers if you are staying in Fish Creek but you can't use if you are staying elsewhere. The ranger will give you a list of nearby pay showers - outside the park so you would really need a car. We used the showers at Glacier Outdoors Centre, $8 for unlimited water, towel, soap etc. You can find cheaper showers in other places. The other factor, particularly if you are in a big rig is that some sites are tight with trees, on a curve, and can be very unlevel - as you can see from picture we used all our blocks plus fire wood to get level! Once you're in and level though the sites are big, it's very quiet, there are picnic benches and fire rings, and in general it's a lovely place to be. There are limited generator hours, so work around them. We managed 6 nights in total without needing to move, using the waste water disposal. Nearby Apgar village has shops for firewood and essentials, a diner and coffee shop, and there is also a shuttle bus in season so you can choose not to use your car to get around the park. We would stay again - we would just bring more levelling blocks!

📖 About This Campground
Apgar Campground in Glacier National Park near West Glacier Montana is the largest campground in Glacier National Park. With a flat topographer and simple loop setup with large easy to access pull thru sites the campground is a popular destination for both RVs and tent campers. All of the loops (A-E) are nearly identical (E is for groups only) with paved roads and dirt parking pads. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring.
25 sites can accommodate up to a 40 foot RV or truck and trailer combination.
As with all the campgrounds in Glacier National Park there is a huge shortage of bear boxes (food storage) that coincides perfectly with a growing population of bears (insert sarcasm: we don't see this ending badly in the future). It is up to you to be bear aware. Properly store and handle your food and scented items.
Water spigots, flush toilets, sinks, and dish cleaning sinks available throughout the various loops. Multi-use trails, hiking trails and easy access to Apgar Village and Lake McDonald make this a convenient and popular camping destination. A dump station is available near the entrance.
The Apgar Visitor Center is a short walk from this campground where park guests can ride the free park shuttle along the entire Going to the Sun Road.
Apgar Campground accepts reservations and they are recommended during the peak season. Lake McDonald allows private motorboats and a launch ramp is nearby. Also kayakers and canoeists enjoy the lake for flat water paddling.
Restaurants and groceries are a short distance away. In addition Verizon cell and data coverage is good in this location.

Located inside the NP from West Glacier this campground has room for tents and RVs. It is a short walk or bike ride over to Apgar village where shops and restaurants are located. Definitely bring the kayaks or plan on renting some to paddle Lake MacDonald. An amazing location and at $20 per night can not be beat. If you are a cyclist plan on waking up early, riding the tram with your bike to the top of Going to the Sun, and then rolling back down... amazing.
