Allen David Broussard Catfish Creek Preserve offers striking, uncommon Florida scrub scenery and good wildlife viewing, but it’s a rugged, low‑amenity experience. Trails are sandy and steep with little shade, so expect strenuous walking, loose “sugar” sand, sun exposure and to carry plenty of water, sun protection and bug spray. Access is somewhat remote and there are minimal facilities — pack in/pack out, no on‑site restrooms or trash. Trails are generally marked, but bring a printed map (online maps may be more reliable). The preserve rewards effort with quiet views and unique habitat sightings.
