Picacho Peak State Park Campground in Picacho Arizona is known for its unique geological significance, outstanding and varied desert growth, and historical importance. With a total of 85 electric sites for both tent and RV camping the unique and scenic location is an excellent destination to camp. Trails meander through the desert for hiking and mountain biking. Multiple paved loops with paved parking pads each site has a picnic tables and fire rings. Restrooms with running water and showers are available. A dump station with water fill is also available. Tent campers should bring a mat or pad to put under their tents as the tent area is on rough desert gravel that can easily cut the nylon material. The park has a number of camphosts on site to provide information and maintain the property. Views from this location are scenic and allow guests to contemplate the impact of rail, vehicle and air travel on the expansion of the west. The park is located in a rural area but there are fuel stations, groceries and fast food available for nearby roadside fuel stations. Advanced reservations can be made.
