About Lava Flow Campground
Lava Flow Campground in Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve near Arco Idaho, open from May through October, and offering RV and tent spaces for primitive (no water, electric or sewer) camping in the black lava flow moonscape of this unique geologic area. During the summer of 2016 the campground underwent renovations resulting in wider roads, bigger pads, handicap accessibility, and other modernizations to improve the overall experience (including pull thru site additions). Hike to the top of black cinder cones and explore the surreal landscape of this park right from camp. A group camp area is also located within the National Monument. Reservations required the group area is located in another section of the park.
