What campers say

Lava Flow Campground sits at the entrance to Craters of the Moon and offers a distinctive lava-rock setting with trails and the visitor center within easy walking distance. Sites are first-come, first-served with a modest nightly fee (senior discounts available) and no RV hookups, dump station, or showers—there are potable water spigots and toilets, though water availability can vary. Nights can be cold and the skies are excellent for stargazing and sunrise/sunset views. The campground is generally well maintained with clean restrooms and friendly staff, but RV generator use and summer crowds can affect quiet and site availability.

Unique campground in this appropriately named National Park. Nearest town is Arco and it is a small town. The kids had lots of fun hiking around teh various trails through the lava flows. Also check out the interesting history exhibits regarding Idaho National Labs. Primitive camping but only $10 per night.
