About Jenny Lake Campground
Jenny Lake Campground in Grand Teton National Park (Wyoming) is a tent only camping location with 50 primitive sites spread out within a forested setting close to Jenny Lake. Scenic views and easy access make this the most popular campground in the park. The first come first served campground is nearly always filled and can be one of the most frustrating places to try and stay in all of the National Park system due to the popularity of the campground. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, bear boxes are located through-out along with water spigots and restrooms. Only one vehicle, less than 14 feet long and 8 feet tall, is permitted per site (this precludes most full size pickup trucks! As an alternative campers could drop their stuff off and then park out in the visitor center area or along the highway simply pay attention to posted no-parking or limited parking signs). Trailers and pop-up tops are prohibited. It is within walking distance of a visitor center and the lake. In addition the popular paved multi-use trail (bike path) ends in this area allowing cyclists to ride significant traffic free distances right from camp. The proximity and crowds also mean this park is actively and aggressively patrolled by park personnel. The best sites are numbers 46-48 as they are in an open area with amazing views of the mountains; being said they are in an open area and have no privacy. The remainder of the sites make up for the views with a more private setting. There are a handful of hiker/ biker campsites available. Paved roads and gravel/ dirt parking pads and camping areas. Open seasonally. See the park in a short video
