Park Description

Silver Lake State Park Campground in Mears Michigan is almost 3,000-acres along the Lake Michigan shoreline. This area includes both dune country and acres of mature forest. One of the park’s biggest draws is the 450-acre off-road vehicle area. Partial and primitive (no water, electric, or sewer) hookup RV and tent camping. Adjacent to the shores of a scenic lake.

Silver Lake is famous for its dunes open to ATV riding and in some areas hiking and sand play. The campground has all paved roads with dirt and or paved sites. Some of the sites are long enough for very large RVs and you’ll find most of the people are here to enjoy the lake or the sand dunes bringing along their associated toys. With a fun environment the fees are reasonable, not cheap, but reasonable and you have immediate access to the playground, a small beach, and the boat launch. Guests can even dock or moor their boats just off the shore. Guests can walk from the park into town where there’s souvenir shops, restaurants, and other supplies. Set in a forested setting there are trees but it’s not overwhelming to navigate into the sites. Restrooms with running water and showers are available as our water spigots dispersed around the campground. Sites have picnic tables and fire rings and at night expect lots of smoke.
