Many guests praise Dunes Harbor Family Camp as a family-friendly, well-maintained campground with clean facilities and roomy sites. The heated, multi-feature pool, playgrounds, and scheduled kids’ activities (pony rides, archery, wagon rides) plus an on-site store and ice cream parlor keep children engaged. Staff are frequently described as helpful, and conveniences include twice-daily trash pickup and delivery of ice, wood and basics to sites. The location is a short drive to the dunes and boat/ORV access, and sites can accommodate trailers and watercraft. A few cabin renters reported heater issues, so bringing a space heater may be wise.

📖 About This Campground

Dunes Harbor Family Camp in Silver Lake Michigan offers full hookup RV camping in a new location (opened in 2016). Located within a religious family camp providing access to amenities and services of the property. The main office is located in the entrance gate where guests checkin and enter the property. All of the roads and parking pads are gravel with options for backin and pull thru sites. Rates are based upon location with sites closer to the water being more expensive than interior sites. Plenty of grass areas, nice playgrounds, clubhouses, restrooms, showers, and a nice pool with water features. The park is family friendly and maintains strict rules on language and alcohol (none allowed). Located north of the community of Silver Lake the RV park is close to the dunes ATV parking area. The RV park maintains a large parking area for storing your ATV trailers and equipment (they are not allowed to be ridden within the park). Amenities are top notch at this RV park and include a cafe, game area and other luxury amenities.

Camping Pro

This was a big dissappointment for us not because of anything the park did or provided but because of Verizon and their horrible coverage in this area. The coverage map shows 4G but the signal is non-existent. Even with amp we could not hold a signal and ended up having to leave after one night. The park itself is very nice and very family friendly. The only complaint is that the sites are not level at all requiring 3" of blocks under one side to level. Lots of kids playing and the pool area and camper lounge next to it were excellent. If you are making reservations here and trying to decide which are the best sites in my pinion the cheapest options are fine. The interior backin sites have pretty views and are not significantly worse off than the water front sites. For a vacation destination for the family this is a great place to stay.
