Willow Creek Horse Camp is a well-maintained, quiet, primarily primitive horse campground near Hill City. Sites include large horse-friendly pads with individual corrals and easy trailer maneuvering, plus a few separate tent sites along a creek. Amenities are minimal—vault toilets, limited water and no hookups—and you check in/pay a few miles away at Horsethief Lake Campground. The location offers direct trail access and convenient proximity to Mount Rushmore, Black Elk Peak and the Needles Scenic Highway. Expect peaceful, private camping and horse riding opportunities; creek-side tents can attract mosquitoes and weather can change rapidly.
