We stayed here in 2016. Loved this place everything is available. Food fun hiking water sports and a rodeo ground. Staff are great and easy access to lots of things to see and do in the area. Bus available to My. Rushmore. Pancake breakfast every morning in season

Mount Rushmore KOA Resort at Palmer Gulch Resort is a large, well-kept family campground with helpful staff, on-site dining, a pool, playgrounds, horseback rides and regular activities. Sites and cabins offer scenic views and many cabins have well-stocked kitchens; laundry buildings and an informed front desk are available. Practical tradeoffs include a very hilly, sprawling layout (golf cart rentals and staff escorts are common), occasional unlevel or tight RV sites, limited sewer hookups and spotty Wi-Fi. Some cabins can be uncomfortably hot in heat waves and isolated reports note attic critters. Overall it pairs strong service and amenities with some site-specific issues.
