What campers say

Walker Lake Recreation Area offers broad lake and mountain views and a generally peaceful, uncrowded setting popular for camping, boating, and swimming. The lake has noticeably receded in drought years and shows algae in places; its high salinity limits trout fishing. Sportsman Beach and nearby campsites provide picnic tables with awnings, fire rings, and pit toilets (bring toilet paper and expect occasional closures). Soft sand means you should stick to established tracks to avoid getting stuck. Visitors report wildlife sightings such as bighorn sheep and lizards, and a small nearby store can be helpful for supplies.
