What campers say

Van Buren State Park is a compact, well-kept park with wooded, shady trails suitable for walking, biking, horseback riding, a disc-golf course and a small archery area. Campground sites include electric-only gravel pads, clean vault toilets and friendly hosts; horse camping with paddocks is available. Picnic shelters, restrooms and ample parking make day use easy. Note the lake has been lowered or altered for restoration (several visitors reported the dam removed), so boating, fishing or kayaking may be limited and some shoreline trails don’t loop as expected. Overall a pleasant, peaceful spot for hikes and family outings.
