Tuck In De Wood Campgrounds is a shaded, peaceful park with roomy sites suitable for both tenters and RVs, and a community of mostly long-term residents. Facilities are clean and include hot showers, laundry, potable water, a bathhouse, and extras such as a fish-cleaning station; ice and firewood are offered on an honor system. Staff are friendly and helpful to newcomers. The campground has pleasant boardwalks and walking areas and is convenient to Beaufort and Hunting Island. Practical tradeoffs include some tight turns between treed sites and a travel/numbering pattern that can be confusing. Most visitors report quiet, safe stays.
