RV Site & Campground Details
Site Capacity: 20 total sites (16 back-in spurs for small trailers/RVs and 4 walk-in tent sites).
Rig Restrictions: Maximum vehicle/trailer length is strictly 30 feet. (No large fifth wheels or big-rig motorcoaches).
Hookups: Dry Camping Only. There are no electrical, water, or sewer hookups at the individual sites.
Rates & Check-in: $15 per night (First-come, first-served). The nightly fee generously includes one day-use vehicle pass for the entire Lake Como Recreation Area.
Atmosphere: Deeply shaded by ponderosa pines and firs. Known for a quiet, "unplugged" environment.
Dump Station & Water Resource Info
Sewer Dump: No. There is no communal dump station at Three Frogs Campground. RVers needing a dump station or full hookups are encouraged to use the nearby Lake Como Campground (just a half-mile away in the lower recreation area) or find transit services in the towns of Darby or Hamilton.
Potable Water: Yes. Fresh drinking water is available from threaded communal spigots located near the camp host site and the campground exit.
Trash & Sanitation: Accessible vault toilets are actively maintained by the camp hosts, and centralized garbage service is provided on-site.
Campground Amenities & Rules
Bear Country Protocol: This is active bear country. Forest Service food storage orders are strictly enforced, and bear-proof storage boxes are provided at the sites.
Site Features: Each site features a designated tent pad, picnic table, and metal fire ring.
Pet Policy: Pets are welcome but must be leashed at all times to prevent wildlife conflicts. Note: Dogs and glass bottles are strictly prohibited on the sandy swimming beach.
Connectivity: No cell coverage or Wi-Fi reaches this specific area of the mountain, making it a true off-grid experience.

Lake Como Beach & Boating: Just a short walk or bike ride away, the 913-acre lake offers a massive sandy beach, a designated swimming area, and a 38-trailer boat launch perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, and motorized boating.
Hiking Trails: The Lake Como National Recreation Trailhead starts right near the campground entrance. The first 1/4 mile is fully paved and accessible, extending into a scenic 3-mile trek or a 6-mile round trip out to the Rock Creek waterfalls.
Gateway to the Bitterroot: Conveniently located just 15 minutes from the historic logging and mining towns of Darby and Hamilton for easy resupply, local dining, and fly-fishing shops.
