Set a mile from Custer State Park, The Roost Resort offers quaint, well-maintained cottages and tidy RV sites on attractive grounds. Guests frequently note clean, comfortable cabins that are well stocked, a spotless bathhouse with excellent showers, peaceful surroundings, and helpful, friendly owners. Outdoor amenities include fire pits, decks, a gazebo and open views with memorable sunsets. Practical tradeoffs: some cabins can be warm during hot days, and at least one guest mentioned an awkwardly located dump station and potable water near the sewer area. Overall, a quiet, convenient base for exploring the Black Hills.
