The Ranch (Escapees Membership Park)

We stayed here for a week in October 2015. Park is limited to Escapees Members only. The good: Park itself was beautiful, in a protected pasture. Lots of wildlife in park - we saw rabbits, quail, roadrunners, and Mexican Ground Squirrels. Sites were gravel and spacious. Some had permanent buildings on them like storage sheds and the like. Park members were nice as well. We are younger (I'm in my 40s, my wife just turned 50) and did not feel out of place, but we were the youngest people there by a decade or so. Laundry facility was nice, Wifi was ok as well. No showers, but bathrooms were available in clubhouse. Clubhouse had honor system in fridge for snacks and drinks. The bad: The lady running the front office was belligerent and difficult to deal with. She threw rocks at our cat (who like most cats, got out of the motorhome). The park has a serious not pet friendly vibe. The dog area was sandy and forgotten about. We mentioned to front desk we were staying extra days, she said sure no problem, but forgot and made big stink making us leave. Told us we had to leave immediately, then called while we were packing up to make sure we were leaving. Left rude messages on phone as well. Because it took a while for us to pack up (our awning was stuck open) she mentioned if she knew we'd take that long we could have paid for extra nite. It was this park that caused me to not renew my Escapees membership. I've never been treated so badly. tl;dr Park is nice, management is crazy.

Very friendly people run this Escapees park. The location is wonderful and the places is super clean. One of the reasons we are members is access to this location. Not far from Carlsbad.
