We loved the hospitality and THE FOOD in their restaurant was very good so we stayed a 2nd night just to have home made cinnamon rolls and scones. For breakfast. The peach pie was 6"dia round ... Sooo good!

It’s a convenient base for Malheur NWR, birding, stargazing and sunsets. Practical tradeoffs: the office, restaurant and gas can have limited hours, Wi‑Fi is weak, tent spots are rocky and windy, and there are occasional reports of inconsistent campsite upkeep or confrontational service. Overall, a well-appointed, mostly reliable stop.
