What campers say

Tahoe Valley Campground is a large, well-maintained RV-friendly park close to South Lake Tahoe attractions. Many visitors praise friendly staff, clean restrooms and hot showers, and family-focused amenities such as a pool, playground, nightly activities and a lively common area. Sites vary from spacious, tree-lined spots to tighter, busier sites, and the campground can be noisy and crowded in peak season. Bears are known to visit the grounds, so guests should secure food and vehicles. Overall it’s convenient for exploring the area and for families seeking on-site activities, but expect limited privacy and occasional facility congestion.

📖 About This Campground

Tahoe Valley Campground in South Lake Tahoe California offers 413 camping sites that range from standard tent spaces up to 50 foot RV spaces. Also features a heated outdoor pool (seasonal). Encore managed park open year round. Full and partial hookup RV and tent sites. Paved roads (broken) with dirt sites the park is built in and around the forest so trees and navigation can be tricky. As an Equity Lifestyle Property this facility does show signs of deferred maintenance but has upgraded a bit in recent years (as of 2019). The location is excellent and within walking/ biking distance of everything in South Lake Tahoe. Excellent trails for hiking and biking are accessed by heading down towards the river. Large RVs can and do fit within the park. During the winter months rates are significantly lower.

We stayed at the end of fall and found this park to be very peaceful and convenient to Tahoe attractions. You are in walking distance to grocery shopping and restaurants along with an easy scoot across Hwy 50 to the bike path. Staff was professional. The only complaint is that as an all season park they really need to upgrade their water system. As it exists now they rely upon the campers to winterize their spigots and feeder pipes. On our last two days we operated without water due to a line break in the system. It is an Encore park so there are special deals and membership rates available; if I was an Encore member there is no question that this would be my home park. Very nice place in a great locale. Paid $196 per week. Verizon 4G was weak 3G was strong.
