Taconic State Park’s Copake Falls area is well maintained, with notably clean bathrooms and heated showers and attentive rangers/staff. It’s a good base for short hikes to nearby waterfalls and offers family-friendly amenities like a wading pond, playground and nature programs. Campsite quality varies: some platform sites sit close together and certain B-loop sites are rocky or uneven, so choose carefully. Swimming areas exist but have rules and limited access in places. Firewood is available and the park supports both tent platforms and RV sites, providing peaceful natural surroundings with occasional campground traffic.
