What campers say
Sutherland Reservoir State Recreation Area offers roomy, tree-lined campsites right on the water with options for primitive tent sites and many electric pads suitable for RVs. Visitors praise fishing, boating, swimming, sunsets, and a fish-cleaning station; families and quiet getaways are common. Sites are mostly first-come, first-serve and inexpensive for overnight tent camping, though out-of-state park passes may apply. Expect tradeoffs: gravel pads and increased crowding can make tent camping tighter or noisier, bathrooms receive mixed reports, and bugs or ticks can be an issue near the water. Overall well-maintained and scenic with basic hookups and good access.
