What campers say

Summit Campground is a shady, heavily wooded Forest Service site that works well as a simple basecamp for visiting East Glacier and park entrances. Many guests praise attentive camp hosts and generally clean vault/pit toilets and grounds. Sites are primitive with no hookups; potable water spigots are available though a few visitors noted off‑taste or discoloration. The campground is inexpensive and well maintained, but it sits near the highway and active train tracks, so road and train noise can be noticeable—especially for tent campers. Some visitors also mention mosquitoes at certain sites.
