What campers say
Sugarloaf Campground offers lakefront sites with easy access to swimming, fishing and a boat launch; many camps are within walking distance of the water and there’s a handling dock. Sites suit tents and RVs but are semi-primitive — no hookups and vault toilets — and the access road is rough in places. Camp hosts and rangers are active and the grounds are generally kept clean, with good shade from pines. Be aware of seasonal dry conditions and fire bans, occasional algae blooms in shallow water, a parking fee for lake access, and intermittent generator noise from some RVs.
