What campers say
Stubblefield Lake Recreation Area is a small, quiet campground offering easy lake access, fishing and paddle opportunities (no formal launch inside the campground; an official boat ramp is across the bridge). Campsites are roomy with tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings, water and good access to the Lone Star Hiking Trail and local trails. Hosts are friendly and the park is well maintained at a very reasonable $15/night; restrooms generally have hot showers and are kept tidy, though occasional maintenance or cleanliness issues have been reported. Close to Huntsville, it’s a convenient, mostly tent-oriented spot for hiking, fishing and low-key camping.
