Strouds Run State Park offers a compact, family-friendly campground and a lake with a beach, playground, and boat/kayak/paddle rentals. Campsites sit near a creek with a footbridge to nearby hiking trails, and wooded routes range from easy to challenging. Facilities are basic — vault toilets in the campground and newer restrooms with plumbing at the beach — and most sites lack RV hookups, so generators or self-contained setups are common. The beach is maintained but can get muddy after rain, and lakeside areas may be busier on warm days. Even so, nights are generally quiet and it’s convenient to Athens.
