What campers say

Stone Mountain State Park offers varied day-hike and camping options centered on a dramatic granite dome, overlooks and waterfalls. The campground has standard state-park sites with roomy tent pads, picnic tables, potable water and generally clean restrooms and showers. Trails include a popular loop to the summit plus side routes to Cedar Rock, Wolf Rock and Widow’s Creek/Falls; views and rock formations are highlights. Visitor center and a small homestead exhibit add history, and a nearby general store can be handy. Tradeoffs: cell service is limited in places and some trail sections show erosion or temporary closures, so plan accordingly.

Old Highlander and his Lass

Fantastic State Park! Busy on the weekends. Great hikes, waterfalls, and nature. Old home place is great to visit and look at life 150+ years ago. Fun watching folks scale the side of the mountain. Clean, great staff. Easy to get to. Great visitors center.
