What campers say

Spotted Bear Campground is a small, budget-friendly site with roughly a dozen first-come, first-served campsites (one report listed $13/night). It offers a scenic river lookout and easy access to nearby trails, swimming, fishing and a swinging bridge, with attentive camp hosts noted. Tradeoffs include a long, rough, dusty unpaved approach and limited services — little to no cell coverage and no nearby gas or groceries — and it can feel crowded. Visitors should bring supplies, use a vehicle suited for rough roads, secure food against wildlife, and be prepared for basic backcountry conditions.
