Sinks Canyon Campground, located within Sinks Canyon State Park near Lander, Wyoming, offers a unique camping experience amidst the stunning landscapes of the Wind River Mountains. The park is renowned for its distinctive geological feature where the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie River disappears into a limestone cavern ("The Sinks") and reemerges a quarter-mile downstream in a pool teeming with trout ("The Rise"). Campground Details:
  • Location: Approximately 7 miles southwest of Lander, Wyoming, along Wyoming Highway 131.
  • Elevation: Around 6,000 feet, providing a moderate climate suitable for various outdoor activities.
Amenities and Features:
  • Campsites: The campground offers 14 sites, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Facilities: Amenities include vault toilets and potable water. Please note that there are no electrical hookups or dump stations available.
