What campers say
Silver Creek State Forest Campground is a rustic, first-come, first-served site tucked along the Pine River. Campsites are limited, fairly secluded, and many sit right on the water, making the area popular for fishing, kayaking, tubing and nearby hiking. Amenities are basic—vault toilets, no hookups, limited cell service—so bring cash and supplies. Sites tend to be small and suit tents or smaller rigs. Nights are usually quiet and wildlife-rich, though busy weekends and day-trippers can make evenings noisy. A good choice for a peaceful river setting if you accept backcountry tradeoffs in comfort.
