Shady Grove Campground near Cumming Georgia is a Forsyth County Park providing partial and primitive hookup RV and tent camping near the shores of Lake Lanier. The park has both the overnight areas and the day use areas including a beach and swim area, boat ramp with a courtesy dock, children’s playground, and restroom and shower facilities. The large park has paved roads and parking pads on multiple loops. As a county run park "intoxicants" are prohibited in the park. Advanced reservations can be made. A dump station is available for free to paying guests (a fee is charged for non-guests).

Staff are consistently described as friendly and responsive, and facilities (restrooms, hot showers, laundry) are kept clean. Many sites provide utilities (20, 30, 50A electric and water) and there’s a boat ramp, trails, beaches, playgrounds, and group sites with pavilions. Reservations are made online with on-site check-in. Practical notes: there’s no on-site WiFi, mobile service varies by carrier (AT&T reported as reliable), and occasional distant resort music can be heard across the water.
