Visitors commonly praise friendly, knowledgeable staff, roomy level campsites and a quiet location that’s still convenient to town. The park provides regular opportunities to view bison and longhorns. Expect exposed, sunny terrain with limited shade, rocky singletrack and cactus or sticker hazards on some routes, plus occasional red ants; lake levels also fluctuate due to drought.
