What campers say
The Rock Island Trail State Park offers a long, well‑maintained rail‑trail good for biking, running, and walking. The surface alternates between crushed limestone and gravel and is largely shaded with heavy tree cover, with occasional open fields, streams, and scenic bridges. The Wyoming depot serves as a convenient trailhead with parking and public restrooms; benches and bike racks appear along the route. The corridor connects towns such as Toulon, Princeville and Dunlap and becomes more urban in places. Expect generally good drainage after rain. Overall it’s a scenic, family‑friendly route—bring appropriate tires for mixed surfaces and expect changing surroundings.
