What campers say

River Ranch County Park is a well-maintained former ranch with extensive, varied trails (over 20 miles) for hiking, trail running, and equestrian use. The grounds, camp loops and interpretive center receive frequent praise and staff are noted as friendly. Camp options include improved and full-hookup RV sites, clean restrooms, and an on-site dumping station. Wildlife sightings (turkeys, deer, raptors) are reported and scenery ranges from prairie to oak woodland. Practical trade-offs: river access is limited and many trails are exposed — bring plenty of water, sun protection, and a reliable map or GPS, since some visitors found trail signage and clear you-are-here markers lacking.
