What campers say
Potato Creek State Park offers extensive, well‑maintained trails for hiking and biking, including a paved multiuse path. Camping areas are spacious and generally quiet, with clean bathhouses and convenient water‑fill and dump stations. The lake features a swimming area plus rentable canoes, kayaks, and rowboats, and there are multiple fishing spots (many require hiking in and anglers should carry a valid license). A nature center/animal conservatory adds interpretive value. Be prepared for seasonal mosquitoes, some fairly challenging mountain‑bike routes, and occasional lakeside construction that could affect parts of the park.
