📖 About This Campground

Pony Express RV Park in Austin Nevada offers 7 pull thru and 3 back-in sites. Next to a park which features a beautiful barbecue area with tables, grassy field, trees, horseshoe pits, and heated swimming pool with showers. Located adjacent to the highway the park is designed for easy access and no frills service. Self pay kiosk near site 5 the flat gravel lot provides easy in and out service. Guests can walk in to the historic mining town or explore via off-road vehicle in the surrounding hills. Located along the "Loneliest Road in America" Austin is a very unique destination to stay. Another RV park is located across the street. That one is better suited to smaller RVs or RVers who are not self contained. the road out front is a steep grade but traffic is light so noise is minimal. The park has packed desert gravel roads and parking pads with utilities centered on the proper side. Mountain bike/ hiking trails are accessible from the east side of the park, next to the auto repair shop, and provide access to hundreds of miles of forest service roads... or a nice 8 mile loop around the main mountain overlooking Austin. Make sure to look up Stokes Castle for a fun nearby adventure.

This is a 3 star park but I added another because the woman that answered the phone was so nice. Overall the small place is suitable for a short stay and was useful for our overnight while travelling the "loneliest road in America". The sites are not level at all sloping front to back and side to side. Utilities worked fine and Verizon 4G was available. We had the place to ourselves the weekend before Thanksgiving. Austin seems to be struggling and the town seemed very quiet. We love US 50 across Nevada and appreciate having a place with full hookups to stop. Rate was less than $20 for the night paid with cash in a drop box.
