What campers say
Pocahontas Campground is a small, basic Forest Service site offering very inexpensive, no-frills camping—individual sites with a picnic table, fire ring/grill and lantern hook. There are roughly half a dozen to a dozen sites, pit toilets, bear‑safe dumpsters, and no drinking water or hookups; cell service can be unreliable. Its wooded sites provide shade and some privacy, but the campground sits close to WV‑92 so occasional road noise and noise between tightly spaced sites has been reported. It’s well suited for overnight stops, quiet rustic stays, and access to nearby hiking and trout streams; reservation/cancellation experiences appear mixed.
