Pine Creek Trail climbs five miles up to Pine Creek Lake, a beautiful 32-acre alpine lake. A mile up the trail from the campground, hikers are awarded beautiful views of Pine Creek Falls.

Campsites are clean with tables, fire rings, and some sites even feature wood-burning stoves; vault toilets and hosts are noted as tidy and helpful. Wildlife sightings (deer common; bears and mountain lions reported) mean food storage and caution are necessary. The access road is a long, single-lane paved road with a tight switchback, so drivers of large rigs should proceed carefully. The campground is generally peaceful, though noise from neighboring sites has been reported on occasion.
