What campers say

Pikes Peak State Park offers excellent hiking through mature hardwood forest with well-maintained, signed trails leading to overlooks of the Mississippi River and features like Bridal Veil Falls. The campground is clean and family-friendly, with cement roadways, roomy sites, electrical hookups at most sites, and neat bathhouses with hot showers (note showers can open seasonally). Some campsites are steep and may require extra leveling, and only a portion offer full hookups. Expect quiet wildlife viewing (hummingbirds frequent feeders), good cell service, no formal entrance fee (donations accepted), and nearby shopping and dining just across the bridge.
