The 57-mile crushed‑gravel bed is generally flat and well maintained, making it well suited for hiking, biking (including e-bikes) and casual paddling access. Facilities at some access points include parking (fee around $7), bike and kayak rentals, and a small gift shop near Foster Falls. Practical tradeoffs: the surface is unpaved so water and appropriate tires are recommended, and the route’s length means many visitors tackle it in sections rather than end-to-end.
