What campers say

Mount Diablo State Park offers expansive, often 360° summit views and many miles of varied hiking and cycling trails. The scenic drive to the top is part of the experience but can be steep, twisty and, in places, narrow or bumpy, so plan accordingly. The summit area has a visitor center with exhibits, snacks and restrooms, plus picnic spots and camping (including group sites). Trails range from gentle to challenging and the mountaintop can be noticeably colder and windier than lower elevations. A few campers have reported aircraft noise at certain sites; overall it’s valued for its scenery and outdoor recreation.
