What campers say
Morgan-Monroe State Forest is a large, scenic public forest with extensive hiking and biking options. Trails range from long, multi-day routes (Tecumseh/Low Gap) to shorter, rugged loops with steep, short ascents, creek crossings and occasional bridges. The paved bike trail is popular for quieter rides. Facilities are basic but useful: a well-kept headquarters with restrooms, maps, and campsite areas with running water; expect a fairly rugged experience overall. Access roads and some entrances are rough, so a sturdy vehicle helps. Visitors may encounter overgrown vegetation on paths and seasonal insects; bring proper footwear, water and readiness for variable trail conditions.
