This is the second Tennessee State Park we have ever stayed at and like the first this one is amazing. Another Park originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps there are miles of hiking and biking trails in the area. One of the Resort style parks there is a hotel and restaurant nearby the camping area is located on the North side just near the visitor center it is not mapped on Google Maps so just know that that is where it’s at when coming here. The park has a mix of tent electric only and full hookup RV and tent sites all situated in a small Valley filled with tall trees. During our stay in April it was stunningly beautiful with singing birds and the green buds popping on the trees. Verizon coverage for both cell and data was surprisingly good the park also does provide Wi-Fi service via tengo internet. We paid $32 per night for a full hook-up site.

If you book in advance online you can just go straight to your campsite there is no check-in process if like us you were traveling in a large RV and this is your first time here I would recommend stopping at the kiosk at you enter the campground parking and taking a walk to find your site. I asked two staff members where the site was and both of them would have lead me down roads that I could not have fit upon. No big deal because I walked the route and figure it out myself how to get into the site just be aware they hire a lot of temporary and college-age staff could you not understand the needs of campers.

There is a playground ball court and volleyball court right next to the campground The Visitor Center is a short walk away and there are three small lakes within the Park. During this time of year there’s also fish in the creek and you’re able to fish the Lakes. If you’re in this vicinity this is an ideal place to camp. We would absolutely stay again.

Montgomery Bell State Park Campground in Burns Tennessee provides full and partial hookup RV and tent camping in a wooded setting. Preserves historic iron ore pits and furnaces.

Montgomery Bell State Park is located seven miles east of Dickson in Dickson County. The park was once the center of iron industry in Middle Tennessee. The park’s namesake, Montgomery Bell, formed one of the largest iron industries in Tennessee. Iron was once thought to be more valuable than gold and was a very lucrative industry at the time.

Montgomery Bell State Park is equipped with a conference center that can host up to 500 people. The onsite restaurant is open every day and available to cater events. Within the center, the inn offers 120 rooms and five suites. The park also has eight environmentally-friendly modern cabins available for rent.

The park’s campground can accommodate 60 ft. campers on most electrical sites. The campground has on-site sewer at 40 sites and can accommodate small pop-up campers and large RVs. There are 94 campsites available at the park.
