What campers say

Mitchell State Park offers a well-shaded, family-friendly campground with mostly level sites and electrical hookups at every site. The park’s two connected lakes, sandy beach, boat channel and pier provide good shore fishing (bluegill, bass), paddling and boat rentals; one lake is calmer for young children while the other is deeper and windier. Bathhouses and showers are generally clean and well maintained, and staff are reported as friendly. Practical notes: there is typically no potable water at individual sites, and recent spring flooding left some trails, launches and a fishing pier damaged or muddy—repairs are underway.
