What campers say

Mississippi River State Park offers a mix of modern and primitive camping in a forested Crowley’s Ridge setting around Bear Lake. Many sites feature full hookups, level concrete pads, reliable bath houses and showers, and free Wi‑Fi, while primitive loops provide quieter, shaded, woodsy sites. Campsites are generally clean, flat and well spaced; rangers patrol and visitor center staff are described as friendly and helpful. Popular day‑use areas include a beach, marked hiking loops and shore fishing (catch rates and species can vary). Practical notes: cell service may be spotty near the river, and occasional litter has been reported.
