Medoc Mountain State Park is a pleasant, family-friendly park with recently renovated campsites, modern bathhouses, and several new cabins. Trails are extensive and well marked, many running along Fishing Creek and suitable for hiking, running, and biking. Day-use areas include open fields, picnic areas, and plentiful playground equipment; the visitor center staff are reported as friendly and informative. Campsites commonly offer water and electricity and include picnic tables and fire rings, though some sites have sewer hookups. Note a practical tradeoff: numerous sites can be quite unlevel, so bring extra leveling blocks, and some trail sections show recent clearing.
