Stayed here while visiting family in Mariposa. Verizon extended 3g connection allowing us to work with 5 bars from lot 5 at this location. We would not recommend this place to anyone for longer than 1-2 nights. For short term you get partial hookups down on the front lawn which is pretty albeit a bit noisy from the banked highway that echoes noise directly on the grounds. Lot 5 is the full hookup gravel lot at the top of the fairgrounds. No views, very dusty, and you are next to the permanent residents. The campground host is a psycho avoid him like the plague. His first words to us were you can not park there! Followed by when are you leaving! He berated us for not checking with him first and tried to get us to move to a crammed spot between two crappy rigs; we ignored him and everything was fine. Not many choices in the area so beggars can't be choosers. very uneven takes a lot of time to level. 1 hour into Yosemite valley floor and 45 minutes to Mariposa Grove.

What campers say
The Mariposa Fairgrounds offers spacious, well-maintained grounds popular for events and camping. Staff and hosts are described as helpful, with clear signage, easy parking and clean restrooms and hot-water showers. Sites range from grassy lots near the front to paved or gravel areas higher on the hill; some sites slope and may be unlevel. Wi-Fi is reported as spotty while cellular (Verizon) coverage tends to be reliable. The dump station and some services are in separate areas, and occasional event fees or higher onsite prices have been mentioned. The fairgrounds sit close to town and about an hour from Yosemite, making it a convenient base for exploring.
