Vault toilets and restroom areas are consistently kept clean, and campground hosts are frequently present and helpful. The group site offers covered picnic space, grills and room for activities, and the location provides easy access to nearby hiking, Taylor Reservoir and Crested Butte. Practical tradeoffs include occasional slow drives through nearby free-range cattle areas and limited parking at some sites; expect significant daytime-to-nighttime temperature swings and the possibility of overnight snow. Overall, a tidy, convenient option for tent and RV camping.

Lottis Creek Campground. Located in the Grand Mesa Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests, Lottis Creek Campground is at an elevation of 8,600 feet above sea level. On the shores of Lottis Creek, this newly remodeled campground is a perfect getaway for anyone that loves the outdoors. Nestled in lodgepole pines down the Taylor River Canyon, Lottis Creek Campground is great for anglers, hikers, bikers, and four-wheeler enthusiasts. Lottis Creek Campground is a good site for anglers, hikers and four-wheel drive enthusiasts. The campground is located on the shores of Lottis Creek and close to the Taylor River. Two miles to the south visitors will find access to the Fossil Ridge Wilderness Area. Hikers and equestrians can enjoy the trails of this pristine natural area. No mechanized or motorized vehicles are permitted in any Wilderness Area. To the east of Lottis Creek Campground four-wheel drivers will find a plethora of roads to explore. Cumberland Pass Road provides access to most of these trails. Group camping is available.
