Alpine Texas is nothing like the Texas I pictured in my head. This area is incredibly scenic with rock outcroppings, valleys, and mountains. Alpine is a quaint little town literally all alone in southwest Texas. Very nice camp hosts and a peaceful location close to town. Verizon cell and data worked good.

What campers say
Lost Alaskan RV Park in Alpine offers clean, well‑maintained bathrooms, laundry and a pool, with large, level shaded sites and a convenient location for visiting Big Bend and downtown. Staff are frequently described as friendly and professional; amenities include a dog run, vehicle wash station and propane service. Practical tradeoffs: the office closes early (around 4 pm) and there’s no on-site change machine, which can complicate laundry for late arrivals. A few guests reported muddy sites after rain and occasional billing or discount issues, so it’s wise to confirm charges and bring quarters.
