We did not stay in the campground because we couldn't get a spot, however it looks really nice. We have been here several times with our FL park pass to hike the orb spider trail (lots of fun, great views and lots of information along the way). Definitely worth the stop.

What campers say
Long Key State Park offers a compact, scenic mix of mangrove boardwalks, shady coastal trails and easy shoreline access. It’s well suited to short hikes, birdwatching, picnics, playground visits and simple camping or hammock setups; wildlife sightings (including small crabs and shorebirds) are common. Practical tradeoffs include an entrance fee, mosquitoes at dusk so bring repellent and protective clothing, and occasional highway or nearby construction noise. Some trail sections can be muddy or minimally maintained after storms. Overall the park provides pleasant, family-friendly nature access along the Overseas Highway if you come prepared for insects and variable trail conditions.
