We’ve been traveling full time since 2017, and this is one of our favorite places. In the last 4 years, we’ve stayed here 4 times. Our current stay has been the longest because of the pandemic (4 months). Lots of folks come for a few days and wind up staying longer! Sites include 50/30/20 amp FHUs, some wifi, 2 bars Verizon LTE. They also have dry camping available. The park owner and crew are great. The park is mostly a very large, flat dirt/gravel lot with long rows of RV sites and some desert foliage sprinkled around. Plenty of room for any rig/tow setup. There is a nice open view of Mexico and its mountains to the south, and to the north is State land with several miles of hiking/biking trails. There is a laundry room (pay on honor system), bathroom/shower, a small library of books/movies, and a centrally located lounge where everyone is welcome to meet daily at 4pm (wind permitting) for ‘happy hour’ (BYOB). The town of Presidio has just about anything you could need and is 5 miles away. There are 2 fuel stations (both with diesel), a grocery store, dollar stores, a few restaurants, bakery, library, etc. But, it is a small town, and they don’t sell/serve liquor. The saving grace for the town is that it is one of the only remaining crossable Texas border towns. The locals here cross weekly to go to dinner and shop. One of the best parts of this area is the proximity to other parts of Texas, like Marfa, Terlingua, and Big Bend NP. It’s 60 miles from any of these places, which may seem like a long distance, but most of those areas have poor cell service and are much more expensive to stay in.
